TOP PERFORMANCE
The
numerous tests run on the track and the use in international races
held in the first part of the season have confirmed the efficiency
of the new Freeline filter to the point that many drivers taking
part in the various National championships, where the new regulations
are still to be applied, have nonetheless chosen to use the new
filter. The data acquired during the development of the product
have also been confirmed by various comparative tests with previously
homologated filters. The performance of the new filter has always
proved superior. If you consider the marked reduction in noise
obtained through its internal design, the result is surprising.
But, to get the best performance from the product, some very important
measures are to be taken. First of all, assembly: it is to be
done by orienting the intake stacks in a perfectly horizontal
and non-tilting position, both to facilitate the flows and to
avoid leaving material on the track. The Freeline engineers also
recommend careful maintenance of the filter. The spongy inside
needs to be cleaned with specific products for filters. They are
readily available on the market and are the same as those used
for car filters. It is important to avoid aggressive products,
such as gasoline. The soundproofing material could deteriorate
and lose some parts that could in turn damage the mechanics of
the engine. Another important recommendation is to avoi
d
removing the internal structure. This operation gives no benefit
at all, in that the air flows generated inside worsen rather than
enhance performance. Last but not least, be careful with the mix:
with ramming air-intake on the 100cc engines, the carburettor
mixture is leaned and the situation changes completely in case
of non-ramming air intake.
